Just remember these four principles and you will not be even one percent less knowledgeable than the greatest Vedic scholar. Remember these principles in your practical life constantly and remain on guard all the time ...

In the couplet, hari guru bhaju nit govind radhe, bhav nishkam ananya bana de, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj summarises the objective of spirituality by presenting the essence of the Vedas and all other scriptures. So important is its meaning that he explained it several times in different ways, giving all aspirants the opportunity to assimilate the meaning. In this book, those explanations have been arranged sequentially, so a daily routine of reading, reflection, bhakti, and meditation can be undertaken. Some of Kripaluji's couplets regarding the transience of the human body have also been included. These are intended to remind aspirants of the need to progress in their devotion and not to become careless.

The teachings of your guru should be listened to again and again. There should be no overconfidence in this regard, thinking that you know everything. When you do not forget God even for a second, only then can you say so ...

Referencing this aphorism from the Brahma Sutra 4.1.1, avrttirasakrdupadeshat, Kripalu Ji Maharaj elucidates the importance of deepening spiritual understanding, telling us why, and then explaining how. He repeatedly emphasised the importance of spiritual knowledge. An aspirant should never think that he knows and understands everything. To do so only invites a person's downfall. Bar Bar Padho, Suno, Samjho is a compilation of excerpts from some of those discourses.
