Description

You will attain spiritual knowledge and divine love only by selflessly serving your guru. Following the instructions of your guru should be your only goal; initially, while traversing your spiritual journey, and finally. You should therefore understand the secret of performing service to your guru ...

Shri Krishna instructs Arjun in the Gita that to know God, an aspiring devotee should surrender to a God-realised saint, a guru with complete scriptural knowledge and practical experience of God. He should ask his guru questions to resolve his doubts and engage lovingly in his guru's service. What do our scriptures mean by loving service, seva? And with what and how should we serve the guru? For the first time, excerpts and entire discourses given by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj on guru seva have been compiled for the convenience, reference, and guidance of all aspiring devotees and servants of God and guru.

Kripalu Ji Maharaj reveals the true definition, nature, and characteristics of spiritual service, referencing the Ramayan, Gita, Puranas, Upanishads and the Bhagavatam. Three forms of service within spirituality are commonly referred to in bhakti: tana, mana, dhana, that is, serve with your body, mind, and wealth. Kripaluji proves that it is the mind that is most important.

An aspirant on any spiritual path must surrender his intellect to God and guru. Even a person who has renounced everything must still renounce the fact that he is a renunciate. In other words, if the mind remains engrossed in the bonds of the ego, he will fail to perform seva and devotion in the spirit intended, and therefore, his pursuit of happiness will go on unfulfilled. Kripalu Ji reveals that an aspirant must always be favourable towards the guru. He must imbibe his teachings, and follow his instructions constantly, implicitly, and happily. This is the supreme religion.

Hindi Description
