bhukti mukti sukha sukha vaikuntha dhama
taju kama eka nama ratu shyam shyama
Abandon the desire for worldly pleasures; give up the desire for the bliss of liberation as well as the bliss of Vaikuntha, the divine abode of Mahavishnu. Instead, constantly be absorbed in chanting the sweet names of Shyama Shyam.
shuka ke samana jani ratu shyam shyama
baka ke samana dhyana karu kaha bama
Do not just repeat the names Shyama Shyam like a parrot who has no idea of what he is saying. Rather, be like the crane, who remains absorbed in meditation. Meditate on the beautiful divine forms of Shyama Shyam while chanting Their names.
rasana ki bhakti te na bane kachhu kama
shunya ka karoda guna shunya ave bama
Practicing devotion verbally without love will not take you to your goal. It is like multiplying a zero by ten million; the result will be zero.
