God is Your Everything

The love between a brother and sister has been around forever, but in the spiritual world God says, Consider Me as your everything. All scriptures unanimously say that You (God) alone are my everything. You must have read the Ramayana? Lakshman said, "Rama is my father as well as my brother." It would be a sin to say this in the world. If someone called his father "brother" or his brother "father" he would be considered insane. Considering one's son to be one's husband is also unacceptable in this world, but in God's realm it is not only acceptable, it also practically happens!

At any given moment you can establish whatever relationship you want with God. Just now you considered Him as your father, in the next moment you considered Him as your son and in the moment after that, your husband. There is no question of this being a sin. God after all has laid down the condition that you must consider Him as your everything. In other words, do not go elsewhere in search of other relationships. And this relationship with God is such that it will never come to an end. In the world, however, every relationship will end one day. Your father will die, your mother will die and your sons and daughters will also die. Everyone's body is transient, so how can anyone claim that his or her relative will be alive forever?
