The Name of Rama is Greater than Rama

We cannot see Shri Rama everywhere, but we can take His name anywhere. You can take Lord Rama’s name anywhere. If you take Shri Rama’s name with love, He will appear immediately. This implies that the Lord is your servant. When one takes the name “Rama”, He appears. Thus, who is more powerful – Shri Rama or His name?

Our self-interest is fulfilled by God’s name, since our heart gets purified by taking His name. The Guru is more important to us since he paves the path to God-realisation. For this reason, we say that Guru is greater than God. In reality, both are equal. One is not greater than the other. God – His names, forms, qualities, pastimes and Saints – all are one and the same. One is not greater than the other. But from the point of view of our self-interest, one is greater than the other. Our goal can be attained only through God’s name and the Guru. God will not give His blissful divine vision at first. We have to purify our heart for Him to come, right? Only Guru and God’s name can purify the heart. Therefore, we say Guru is greater, otherwise they are the same.
