Worldly happiness has two faults. Firstly, it is not the biggest and therefore there is always a greater happiness, and secondly, it does not last forever. It comes to an end so quickly. We hug our son once and experience happiness. We hug him again and experience less. The third time, even less and the fourth time, the happiness has finished, "Son, go and play." Keep hugging him. Why did you ask him to go and play? When you hugged him after such a long time, it gave you happiness, but after a while that happiness came to an end. It is like when a hungry person gets a rasagulla. The first one is delicious. The second one is good; the third is okay. By the fourth, "Please stop now. Have mercy!"
We have never reflected on this illness, and yet we claim to be intelligent. If someone tells us that we are ignorant, we do not agree. "Then you are all-knowing God?" No, no. I am not. You are not ignorant and you are not all-knowing; then what are you? Are you insentient matter? Everyone is proud of their own intellect. One who does not even know the names of the Vedas, Puranas and other scriptures, if asked for his opinion on God, would start lecturing authoritatively. In his pride and arrogance, he thinks he is Veda Vyasa.
In this way, the one who has attained happiness is crazy in happiness, and the one who has not attained it is crazy for happiness. He looks for it everywhere, but he does not find it because there is no happiness here in the first place. The material world extends up to Brahma's abode. When there is no happiness even there, what happiness will you find on Earth?
Now, let us consider the one personality who remains, i.e. God. He must not be crazy? No, He is the craziest of all! How come? God has a law, ye yatha mam prapadyante tamstathaiva bhajamyaham (Gita 4.11) I love every soul as much as that soul loves Me. This is a law. Hence, the gopis loved Him so much that they made Him dance all over Braja. What did they not do to Him? He completely forgot that He is the all-knowing, all-witnessing, all-powerful Supreme Lord. "Those illiterate rural girls made God dance for buttermilk." (Raskhan) And He did dance; He forgot who He was.
God is therefore crazy in the devotee’s love, and the devotee in God's love. All the devotees have only one God, pay attention, but God has countless devotees. Imagine how crazy He must be! The devotees are crazy after their one God, but God has infinite devotees, so multiple the madness of a single devotee by infinity. Hence, all are mad. But if someone tells you, "You are crazy," "What! He called me crazy!" This world with its 8.4 million life forms is God's mental hospital. Those who do not accept God to be their mother, father, brother, friend, child and beloved, God places them in this mental hospital of 8.4 million species. Roam here, My child. Tell Me when you get tired. But we people are no less adamant. Countless lives have passed, but we ask God to grace us first, and God asks us to surrender first. There is a fight between us. He tells us to first surrender to Him and we tell Him to grace us first, and then see how well we surrender.
To conclude, all are mad. Hence, we must now start spiritual practice to attain the Mad One and become truly mad. We are currently falsely crazy because we are crazy for the world. When we become crazy for God, we will become perfectly crazy.
