We should lead a life filled with humility, tolerance, and respect for others. We should always chant, sing, and remember God, His pastimes, His grace, and His virtues with affinity every moment. Having respect for others without seeking any compliments, being humble and always forgiving, all these virtues can be expressed in one word: humility ...

It is universally accepted that God dwells within the heart of every living being. It is therefore logical that we should not hurt the feelings of another, either through our words or our actions. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj advised aspirants to keep this very important point in mind. In fact, he said that there is no sin greater than hurting the feelings of another.

It was Gaurang Mahaprabhu who wrote over 500 years ago that aspirants on the path of devotion should develop qualities of humbleness, forbearance, patience and politeness. In recent times, these very same words were echoed by Kripalu Ji. By adhering to his guidelines for developing these qualities, an aspirant will in time be able to imbibe them. When reinforced with practical devotion, this knowledge becomes the foundation on which we can genuinely move towards our goal of everlasting, ever increasing happiness.

Kripalu Ji explains that devotion can only start, remain, and develop based on humility. Just like a pinch of salt ruins the taste of a cake, any hint of pride or ego and the palace of humility will come crashing down.
